Interior Design

What is Interior Design?

Interior design is both an art and science designed to enhance the interior of a structure to achieve a more aesthetically pleasing environment.

An interior designer is someone who plans, researches, coordinates, and manages such enhancement projects.

Modern Interior Design

Once a brand position and tone of voice has been established it gives us a platform to develop the architectural & interior design and create an environment that supports the whole brand position and helps deliver a complete guest experience.

This service applies to either a single store, unit or multiple units in a larger mixed-use development.

Having a comprehensive architecture & interior design service that is able to interpret the proposition as a 3-dimensional spatial solution is critical to success, not only in the “look and feel” but in all the practical areas of operational efficiency and planning including the back of house arrangements.

It is also important to have a professional design service that can take a concept through all the technical stages to build out the development.

The Harrison Approach

At Harrison, we take every project through a series of defined stages from an initial brief to the completion of the development on a given site.

The brief is an important strategic stage where we ensure we have full clarity of the client requirements, developed through our brand strategy stages.

We then develop our initial thinking with schematic master planning and architectural & interior concept storyboards that set out the intended personality and tone of voice.

Once the client is aligned with the concept stage we then produce comprehensive design proposals with detail spatial plans, visuals and other mediums to fully describe the design intent and the operational format.

The next stage is to negotiate with authorities having jurisdiction on the code compliance to obtain planning and building regulation approvals.

We then develop all the construction details, shop-fitting drawing packages, specifications and schedules so the project can be bid or negotiated with a favoured contractor.

We will liaise with other consultants on mechanical, electrical, structural and catering services to ensure all scheme details mesh together.

We will also detail, specify and obtain prices for specialist elements including furniture, lighting, artwork.

The final stage is to then manage the implementation of all the works during onsite construction, once again in conjunction with other consultants to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget.
