A modest former dry‑cleaner is reimagined into a compelling fast‑casual restaurant design prototype crafted with brand strategy, interior architecture, and environmental design finesse.

The first of its kind, this fast casual concept pairs playful design with operational efficiency to anchor the brand’s franchise platform.

Our goal: showcase Daddy’s southern‑inspired fried‑chicken brand to franchise operators, at a controlled budget yet maximum storytelling impact.

Grounded in southern charm and scaled for growth, the prototype introduces a welcoming “front porch” dining area, bold exterior paint, and layered textures. All combine to craft a hospitality design narrative that feels like a warm hug. Inside, the layout supports dine‑in service, kiosk ordering, walk‑up windows, and even a drive‑thru pickup lane. It’s a cohesive restaurant branding and guest experience demonstration centre that blends nostalgia with innovation.

Our work on this Houston Heights prototype proved strategic: designed to be site‑specific yet scalable, it captured the attention of Area 15 Ventures LLC, which acquired full ownership of Daddy’s Chicken Shack in May 2023. With 160 units in development and ambitious national expansion underway, including new regional agreements in Texas, California, and Colorado, this prototype became the blueprint for growth.

The familiarity of comforting nostalgia and Southern design sensibilities all wrapped up in a warm environment gives this brand such a unique brand identity and design language.
