Nicholas Culpeper

Our design was inspired by the life story of the English botanist, herbalist and physician, Nicholas Culpeper who in the 1660s spent the greater part of his life in the English outdoors cataloguing hundreds of medicinal herbs that are used in medicinal products today.

We developed a concept which was underpinned by three key elements, a classic pub design that used quirky, traditional materials. Classical features that were reminiscent of pubs with Victorian tiles and character timber floorings, a gin distillery, which is housed in its own room directly to the right of the bar with viewing windows for guests to enjoy watching the copper pot batch still in action.

The Nicholas Culpeper was awarded The Airport Bar of the Year 2017 at the global Airport Food and Beverages Awards.

“The Nicholas Culpeper continues to exceed our expectations and contributes to a better airport experience for every one of its guests. A quiet, empty corner of the terminal has become a warm, welcoming hive of activity whatever the hour of the day.” HELEN TESCHAUER | F&B BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER
